How To End Trump's Greenland Delusion

Follow the money.

Y’all want to shut down this Greenland nonsense?

Here’s how you do it. Not with speeches. Not with hearings that go nowhere. Not with breathless media panels arguing about Donald Trump’s feelings.

You do it by going after the money.

Also, if you enjoy these real time breakdowns, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. It really helps.

This entire Greenland obsession only exists because Trump believes he can turn it into a speculative feeding frenzy. He is not thinking about diplomacy. He is not thinking about national security. He is thinking about wannabe investors, branding opportunities, extraction rights, and the illusion that powerful people are lining up behind him.

That illusion is fragile. Democrats can shatter it tomorrow.

Democrats need to announce, clearly and publicly, that any permit, tax credit, subsidy, incentive, or federal approval tied to Trump’s Greenland scheme will be revoked the moment power changes.

Not reviewed.

Not reconsidered.

Revoked.

Say it out loud. Say it on the record. Say it in writing.

Because here is the part Trump does not understand, and his investors absolutely do. Large-scale Arctic development is not fast money. It is capital-intensive, time-intensive, and politically fragile. We are talking about billions in upfront costs, years of regulatory exposure, and projects that do not turn profitable overnight.

Which means every serious investor has to ask one question before they sign a check.

What happens when Trump loses?

And everyone in finance knows the answer.

Republicans are staring down brutal midterms. They are staring down 2028. They are staring down a political clock that does not slow down for delusions. If Democrats make it clear that these projects lose federal legitimacy the moment power shifts, then every CEO involved has to walk into a boardroom and explain why they gambled shareholder money on a temporary political tantrum.

That is not a conversation executives survive.

Republicans will scream. They always do. They will whine about sabotage. They will cry about undermining the president. They will pretend this is unprecedented.

It is not.

This is how power actually works.

If Trump wants to use my money, your money, public authority to chase a fantasy involving a frozen island that has already said no, then yes, Democrats should jam it up. Every day. Every angle. Every incentive.

Not because it is personal. Because it is stupid.

If Trump wants to play empire builder with public resources, the answer is simple.

Jam the money. Kill the incentives. End the fantasy.

And make damn sure every investor understands exactly what they are signing up for.
